Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation
Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) or Brittle Bone Disease is a complicated, variable and rare disorder. Its major feature is a fragile skeleton, but many other body systems are also affected. OI is caused by a mutation (change) in a gene that affects bone formation, bone strength and the structure of other tissues. It is a life-long disorder.
The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation (OI Foundation) is the only voluntary national health organization dedicated to helping people cope with the problems associated with osteogenesis imperfecta. The Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of life for people affected by OI through research to find treatments and a cure, education, awareness, and mutual support.
We are excited to announce that the OI Foundation has been nominated to be our July Nonprofit Partner! Thank you to all who voted! We will be sharing the mission of this great organization throughout the month and will donate a portion of our net proceeds!
